Sydney Makerspace – You can make it here at Sydney’s workshop.

What do you need to make in our workshop? We provide the space to work, the equipment, and the expertise to turn your idea into reality.

Whether you’re looking to complete a project for business or pleasure, prototype a brilliant new idea, or learn a new skill in your spare time, we’ve got what you need. We offer a place to do 3D printing, electronics, wood working, metal working and much more. We have a wide range of both digital and industrial equipment available to help you make what you need.

Our workshop is open to help businesses, students, and creative minds, and we welcome Makerspace members of all kinds. We help businesses as an extension of the tools they already have. We help students get access to equipment and training on their skills development path. We help deepen creative expression with increased options for making.

One of our most valuable assets is the collective wisdom and helpfulness that our members bring to one another by sharing knowledge and skills.

About Us

The Sydney Makerspace officially opened its doors to the public in March of 2019, giving Cape Breton a place, equipment, and an expert network to support innovative new products. The Makerspace gives Cape Breton start-ups, entrepreneurs, students, and other creative minds a collective workshop full of tools and resources.

A creator’s dream, the 6,000 sq.ft. space in Sydney includes general work areas, metalworking, woodworking, an electronics/robotics lab, a 3D CAD and printing lab, and a lot more.

Makerspace members use the resources for prototyping projects, whether it’s a creative or business endeavour. Support is offered through connections with experienced mentorship or a shared interest over the water cooler.

Members of the community are invited to stop by and check out the space, located at 100-37 Nepean Street, Sydney.
